Comments are a feature of blogs and opinion pieces on news sites which allow readers to respond, usually to Posts. Some websites allow comments on all pages and infinitely, but this seems to us to be a very poor practice inviting problems of management and poor quality engagement, e.g. people making requests which are of no interest to other readers.
Comments can allow you to interact more with your site visitors as well as generate feedback and discussion on a topic, a proposal, or the article itself.
Comments have to be controlled and regulated through the use of filters for language and content, and if you prefer (always advisable), can also be queued for approval before they are visible on the web site.
This isn't just useful in dealing with comment spam, it is mandatory that you do this as a site on our platform without strict moderation potentially exposes the whole platform to negative search rankings.
When you click on the Comments menu option, you’ll be shown a list of all the comments on your site.
The Ourlocality default has comments are turned off. We strongly recommend that you keep away from this feature unless you're a professional blogger and know exactly what you're doing. Also speak to us before enabling comments so we can guide you on the crafting of a GDPR policy.
